APRIL 5, 2019 Founder, Frank Spry Obituary
It is with great sorrow that the Knobby's Kids Team announces the passing of one of the organization's founders, Frank Spry. He was one of the originals that helped make Knobby's Kids the program that it has become. Frank was always there early to greet all the kids with his giant booming voice. He kept all the volunteers inline and always added a little humour to our mornings. He was special to all our kids, especially the littlest ones couldn't wait to run up and say hi to Mr. Frank. Truly a fine gentleman who will be greatly missed in our community. Our deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences to his family.

MAY 15, 2018 Founder, Jerry Slavik Obituary
The Knobby’s Kids Family, with heartfelt sadness, regrets to announce the passing of one of our founders and a great friend JERRY SLAVIK.
He has been the leader of our team, the captain of captains and the best coach one could ever have. We have all benefited from the knowledge, generosity, and kindness that he has shown. He has been a mentor to us and taught us how to be better persons. We have learned from him that the impossible is possible when you set your mind to it. He turned good ideas into great actions and has given, to hundreds of kids, the opportunity to play the great game of hockey. He is irreplaceable to us and this organization he helped build. We believe that Jerry and Knobby are together again and probably organizing a few new sport leagues. Jerry is missed by the Knobby’s Kids family.
On behalf of Knobby’s Kids, Marty and Frank would like to offer condolences to his family and friends.

NOVEMBER 29, 2011 Founder, Robert “Knobby” Knudsen Obituary
Knobby Knudsen had the original inspiration to create our program. He wanted a program that allowed children to learn and play hockey without the having the financial burden of registering in a league and buying equipment. In addition, the program would also let kids play without the competitive stress of traditional minor hockey. At the time it seemed like a crazy idea but that didn’t deter Knobby. He teamed up with Jerry Slavik and Frank Spry and built the program from nothing. In the beginning there was no equipment, coaches nor home ice. He helped get everything together and build the team that today is Knobby’s Kids. Knobby also gave us one of our mottos, “Kids in Sports Stay Out of Courts”. He believed that giving kids opportunity and a good environment would help them down a good path in life. We at Knobby’s’ Kids work to continue the program in the spirit the Knobby started it.
